According to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), the temple was built by the Katyuri kings in the 8th century between the post-Gupta and pre-medieval periods. There are more than 108 small and big temples here. It is also known as the Mrityunjay Temple in the Puranas. This temple is built in Nagar style.

Kainchi Dham
